Vasa Museum, Sweden

"Sweden's most visited museum is the Vasa Museum (Vasamuseet) in Stockholm, which welcomes about a million people a year. Visitors of all nationalities are welcome at the museum, which offers audio guides and guided tours in English.

It is a day trip in and of itself to visit the Vasa, which has ten different exhibitions and four more museum ships. On its first cruise, the 64-gun battleship Vasa, the pride of the Swedish Imperial fleet, sank in 1628. For over three centuries, the ship was submerged beneath the frigid waters until an extraordinarily ambitious salvage operation in 1961. Visitors from all over the world now flock to view this intriguing time capsule."
