With 9,689 residents as of 2020, Sigtuna is a community in Stockholm County, Sweden, located in the Sigtuna Municipality.Despite the fact that the municipality's seat is in Märsta, it is the namesake. For historical reasons, Sigtuna is still frequently called a stad. Stretching around Upplands-Bro and a portion of Lake Mälaren, Sigtuna is located at the bay Skarven. Approximately 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) east of Old Sigtuna, which was once the residence of the highly regarded god Odin in Old Norse religion, is the harbor town of Sigtuna today, which was founded around 980.Restaurants, cafes, and small stores can be found in Sigtuna's medieval-style town center. Tourists are drawn to the historic main street (Stora gatan), Viking runestones, and the remnants of an old church, particularly during the summer. The old modest town hall (Sigtuna Rådhus) and a number of handicraft businesses are reached by the narrow lanes lined with low-built wooden cottages. In the town center, there are eateries and a hotel called Sigtuna Stadshotell.

The Lutheran Church of Sweden's Lund Cathedral (Swedish: Lunds domkyrka) is located in Lund, Scania, Sweden. It serves as both the primary church of the Diocese of Lund and the seat of the Bishop of Lund. Dedicated to Saint Lawrence, it was constructed as the Catholic cathedral of the archiepiscopal see of all Nordic nations. It is among Sweden's oldest surviving stone structures. According to some, Lund Cathedral is "the most powerful representative of Romanesque architecture in the Nordic countries." The cathedral and Lund were part of Denmark when they were built.The cathedral was mostly completed by 1145, when the main altar was dedicated; the western towers were constructed a little later. Its architecture, as expressed via the Rhine Valley, is obviously influenced by modern north Italian architecture. Donatus was the first architect, though it's unclear exactly what part he played in the cathedral's construction. Rich stone sculptures adorned the new cathedral, including two peculiar statues in the crypt known as "The giant Finn and his wife," which have become the subject of a local legend. After the cathedral suffered significant damage in a fire in 1234, Adam van Düren led extensive restoration efforts in the early 16th century. The cathedral experienced deterioration and lost revenue after the Reformation. With the signing of the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658, the cathedral and the city of Lund were incorporated into Sweden.

The Øresund, also known as the Öresund Bridge, is a cable-stayed bridge that spans the Øresund strait between Denmark and Sweden and is connected to both railroads and motorways. It is the second-longest bridge in Europe and is a single construction that connects a road and a railroad. From the Swedish coast to the man-made island of Peberholm in the center of the strait, it travels approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles). The 4-kilometer (2.5-mile) Øresund Tunnel connects Peberholm to the Danish island of Amager, completing the Øresund Link.As a component of the Øresund Link, the bridge links the Scandinavian Peninsula's road and rail systems with those of Central and Western Europe. The Link serves as the backbone of Internet data transfer between Sweden and central Europe thanks to a data cable.[6] The Øresund Line passes by train, and the international European route E20 crosses by road. Central and Western Europe are now connected to Sweden by road and train thanks to the Great Belt Fixed Link (1988–1998), which connected Funen to Zealand and, from there, to the Jutland Peninsula, and the Øresund Link.The bridge was designed by Niels Gimsing and Georg Rotne, as well as Jørgen Nissen and Klaus Falbe Hansen from Ove Arup & Partners. The rationale behind the extra cost and difficulty of excavating a tunnel for a portion of the bridge instead of raising that portion was to prevent air traffic from the nearby Copenhagen Airport, to give ships a clear path in both good and bad weather, and to keep ice floes from obstructing the strait. On July 1, 2000, the bridge opened to traffic after construction started in 1995. The IABSE Outstanding Structure Award was given to the bridge in 2002.

With 24,330 residents as of 2017, Visby is a Swedish city that serves as the headquarters of the Gotland Municipality in Gotland County on the island of Gotland. In addition, Visby serves as the Diocese of Visby's episcopal see. Visby, a Hanseatic city, has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995 and is undoubtedly the best-preserved medieval city in Scandinavia. The town wall that surrounds the town center, which is 3.4 km (2.1 mi) long, and several church ruins are among the most noteworthy historical remnants. The preservation of numerous stone homes in their original medieval architecture can be attributed to the city's demise as a Hanseatic metropolis in the Late Middle Ages.Visby welcomes thousands of visitors each year and is a popular summer holiday spot for Scandinavians. Outside of the Swedish mainland, it is by far the most populated Swedish locality. Located in Visby, Gotland University has been a member of Uppsala University since July 1, 2013, when it was renamed Uppsala University–Campus Gotland. Additionally, Visby is the only Swedish county seat that may be reached from the mainland other than by air and boat.Visby has an oceanic climate (Cfb) based on the Köppen climate classification. Compared to much of mainland Sweden, this results in milder winters and colder summers. Nevertheless, the city's climate is greatly impacted by continental airflows despite its seaside location. Particularly for an oceanic climate, the levels of precipitation are rather moderate and comparatively constant throughout the year. Especially in the summer, Visby is one of the sunniest towns in Sweden and the Nordic region.
