The Czech Republic's Central Bohemian Region has the municipality and village of Průhonice, which is located in the Prague-West District. There are roughly 2,800 people living there. Průhonice Park, which is on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites, is its most famous feature.
Průhonice is traversed by the D1 motorway, which connects Prague and Brno. The 5.2 km (3.2 mi) stretch of the D1 motorway between Prague and Průhonice was reclassified as a first class road on January 1, 2023.One of the most important castle parks in the Czech Republic is Průhonice Castle Park. It has been safeguarded as a national cultural monument since 2010. It was also included to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites later in 2010 (as part of the Historic Center of Prague).It is referred to as a "original masterpiece of garden landscape architecture of worldwide importance" . Of its 250 hectares (620 acres), 211.42 hectares (522.4 acres) are designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Count Arnošt Emanuel Silva Tarouca founded it in 1885.In the park stands the Romanesque Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. In the municipality, it is the oldest structure still standing.
In the 1970s, the Dendrological Garden was established. It is 73 hectares (180 acres) in size. It is one of the biggest collections of ornamental plants in the nation, with around 5,000 taxa of woody and perennial plants.
