Lazienki Park, Poland

Covering 76 hectares of the city center, Łazienki Park, also known as Royal Baths Park (Polish: Park Łazienkowski, Łazienki Królewskie), is the biggest park in Warsaw, Poland. The park-and-palace complex is located on Ujazdów Avenue in the Downtown area. This avenue is a section of the Royal Route, which connects Wilanów Palace to the south with the Royal Castle.

The Łazienki region was included in Queen Bona Sforza's holdings in the middle of the 16th century, when she gave the order to build a wooden manor house with an Italian garden. North of what is now Łazienki Park, King Sigismund III Vasa built the four-sided stone Ujazdów Castle in 1624. The Palace on the Isle (Pałac Na Wyspie in Polish) is the main structure in Łazienki. Tylman van Gameren, Poland's best renowned architect at the time, designed the original baroque Bath-House, which Lubomirski built in 1680. On its northern elevation, the square-shaped structure included a three-sided projection. There was a circular hall with a fountain within, and a cupola with lanterns shining on it. Pebbles, seashells, and fake grottos adorned the walls.A bathroom with bas-reliefs on the walls was next to it. The building's outside elevation and interior were lavishly embellished with murals, sculptures, and stucco. On the columned portico's entrance wall, some of the original embellishments have survived. The Latin inscription, which can be interpreted as a rebus, is also unique. In translation, it states: "This house hates sorrow, loves peace, offers a bath, recommends an idyllic life and wishes to play host to honest men.
