St. Stephen's Basilica, Hungary

Located in the Aggtelek Karst region of Northern Hungary, Aggtelek National Park (also known as Aggteleki Nemzeti Park in Hungarian) is a national park. The unique surface structures and caverns in this limestone landscape are the national park's most important assets.There are 280 caves in the park, varying in size.Its entire area is 198.92 km2, of which 39.22 km2 are protected to a greater extent. This region is home to the largest stalactite cave in Europe, the Baradla cave (26 km long, with 8 km in Slovakia, known as Domica). A few of the caves specialize in various fields. For instance, the Peace Cave features a sanatorium that aids in the treatment of asthmatics.The fire salamander, hucul pony, common buzzard, eastern imperial eagle, European copper skink, white-throated dipper, red deer, Eurasian lynx, gray wolf, wild boar, crested tit, goldcrest, Eurasian bullfinch, hazel grouse, common kingfisher, red-backed shrike, old World swallowtail, scarce swallowtail, and saga pedo were among the animals found in Aggtelek National Park.  

Located in the city of Pécs, Hungary, the Sts. Peter and Paul's Cathedral Basilica, often known as Pécs Cathedral, is a place of worship for Catholics and the cathedral of the Diocese of Pécs. The Pécs Cathedral's foundations date back to the fourth century, during the Roman era. It is thought that an early Christian basilica, which expanded westward between the eighth and ninth centuries, once stood where the cathedral now stands. The decision to alter the structure was made during Stephen I's rule, and it is likely that the two western towers were built during this time.Italian architects were involved in the construction of the Romanesque church following the great fire of 1064. The church was expanded with Gothic chapels and two lateral towers during the Middle Ages. There have been attempts to rebuild the building following the Turkish occupation (1543-1686), which caused damage and decay. The rebuilding, which took place between 1882 and 1891, faithfully followed the original designs created by Friedrich von Schmidt Viennese, the architect of the cathedral, and gave it its current neo-Romanesque aspect. The church is seventy meters long, twenty-two meters wide, and up to sixty meters high in the towers.

The Hungarian Parliament Building (lit. "House of the Country" or "House of the Nation"), commonly called the Parliament of Budapest due to its location, is a well-known landmark in Hungary, the seat of the National Assembly, and a well-liked tourist site in Budapest. It is located on Kossuth Square on the Danube's eastern bank in the city's Pest neighborhood. It was built in 1902 in the neo-Gothic style by Hungarian architect Imre Steindl. Since its completion, it has stood as Hungary's largest structure. Vienna's gothic City Hall impacted the Hungarian parliament building's architectural style, while the Maria vom Siege church in Vienna inspired the cupola and other renaissance features.Constructed in the Gothic Revival style, the Parliament Building features a central dome and a symmetrical façade. The architecture of the dome is Renaissance Revival. With two similar parliament halls on either side of the structure, the parliament is likewise essentially symmetrical from the inside. The Hungarian National Assembly still meets in one of the two halls, while celebrations, meetings, and tours are held in the other. It is the largest building in the nation since it was built, measuring 268 meters (879 feet) in length and 123 meters (404 feet) in width.Ten courtyards, thirteen passenger and freight elevators, twenty-seven gates, twenty-nine stairs, and 691 rooms—including more than 200 offices—are all part of its interior. With the founding of the Principality of Hungary in 896 after the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin, its 96-meter (315-foot) height alludes to the alleged nation's millennium in 1896. Before the MOL Campus was completed in 2021, it was one of the two tallest structures in Budapest, along with Saint Stephen's Basilica.

The 800 km2 Hortobágy national park in eastern Hungary is rich in cultural history and folklore (pronounced [ˈhortobaːɟ] in Hungarian). Part of the Alföld (Great Plain), the park was chosen as a World Heritage Site in 1999 after being named a national park in 1973 (the first in Hungary).The Hortobágy is the largest semi-natural grassland in Europe and the largest protected area in Hungary.Up until recently, it was thought that the current structure and pH of the soil were caused by the clear-cutting of massive woods during the Middle Ages, followed by actions to regulate the Tisza River's flow.Alkalinization in Hortobágy is said to have begun ten thousand years ago, when the Tisza first swept across the Great Hungarian Plain, severing numerous streams from their Northern Mountain origins. Hortobágy is much older. During the Ice Age, grazing animals and wild horses completed the structure, and then domesticated animals took over.The site's landscape, long cultural history (spanning over four millennia), and evidence of traditional pastoralism practices led to its inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999.
