In 2020, Giethoorn, a village in the Dutch province of Overijssel, had 2,795 residents. It is situated approximately 5 km (3.1 mi) southwest of Steenwijk in the municipality of Steenwijkerland. Giethoorn, sometimes known as the "Venice of the Netherlands" or "Dutch Venice" (Dutch: Hollands Venetië), is a well-liked Dutch tourist destination both domestically and internationally.Previously a pedestrian precinct, Giethoorn is now an exception. He served as the leader of the Eighty Years' War, a developing national Dutch resistance movement against Spanish domination. At that time, Delft was one of Holland's most important cities and had the city walls needed for a headquarters. In the Battle of Delft in October 1573, Spanish soldiers launched an attack that was repulsed.

De Haar Castle's interior is every bit as magnificent as its exterior! You can take your time exploring the interior if you purchase a combo ticket. With opulent bedrooms, sculptures and carvings, paintings, ornate furniture, stained glass windows, There are 200 rooms in the castle! The interior tour was quite informative and worth it, even though they only allowed you walk through a few of these. The entire village of Haarzuilens had to move to make room for this magnificent castle, which was constructed by renowned Dutch architect PJH Cuypers. It is situated on a breathtaking 250-acre park. The Amstel Gold Race has been held on the city's Cauberg hill since 2003, and as of 2017, it is within the final 10 kilometers of the finish line. In 1992 and 2006, Valkenburg served as a stage finale for the Tour de France.
