Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), Norway

"Despite this, Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) is one of Norway's most visited tourist destinations. It's also among Norway's most photographed locations. The site, which is close to Stavanger, is reached by ferry and bus, and then hikes upward for two hours. However, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Lysefjord once you arrive at the nearly level clifftop, which is more than 600 meters above the water.Visitors to the Stavanger region should also make time to visit the Norwegian Canning Museum, which is quite fascinating. Set in a historic original WWII cannery, this entertaining museum depicts one of the nation's most significant industries: sardine fishing and preparation.

Norway's Pulpit Rock is a natural landmark that provides breathtaking fjord vistas. April through October are the ideal months to walk Pulpit Rock because of the pleasant weather and the absence of snow and ice on the trail. In addition to being the busiest, the summer months of June through August are also the busiest. Hike throughout the week and begin early to avoid the crowds. It is not advised to hike outside during these months without a guide or appropriate equipment.
